A small courtyard garden in North london in need of a complete rebuild. The clients requested a modern garden with japanese influence. It was to be a place to sit relax and entertain.
Built in seating with under storage was requested to maximise to use of space and seating area was positioned to maximise the morning and evening sun.
Japenese Planting, both evergreen and deciduous. Colour Is provided from a combination of flower and leaf. Prunus Amanogawa (flowering cherry) and Bamboo provide veritcal accents and specimen plants were selected for simplicity and impact. A narrow slatted wood path divides the space and bridges the two garden areas. It also complemented and repeated by the slatted wood fencing and seating in the garden and the internal flooring. Grey granite paving provides a clean contemporary feel and contrasts well with the painted white raised beds that also add an extra dimension of space.
