OUTDOOR ROOM

The family garden had lost its appeal and as a result was bearly used. The clients dreamed of a garden that would become part of the every day living space.A place to entertain, cook and amongst all relax.

High on the list was a pergola and this was to be sited in an area of the garden that received the afternoon and most importantly evening sun. This was to be the focal point of the garden. Outdoor eating was also important, so an enclosed BBQ area was designed together with the clients and positoned in sufficient space to allow guests to congregate, but also close enough to serve  to the pergola.

Existing sleepers were recycled and used to form raised beds. This provided to opportunity to create level changes and additional interest within the garden. Planting beds were brought across the garden in order to produce views through the planting and to provide a feeling on enclosure around the pergola.

Planting was to have a Asian/Mediterranean Zen appeal.
